Organic Traces

Organic Traces is a visual investigation of vegetal matter.

Bruises, cuts, and signs of decomposition become elements of a new aesthetic—

not mere defects but traces of an evolving process that shapes the subject and visually redefines it.

Often, defects on fruits and vegetables do not appear aesthetically appealing; in fact, they can evoke repulsion.

However, what initially seems “repulsive”, can become an exaltation of the artistic aesthetic
of these details, highlighting how they can generate fascinating and unexpected visual forms.

Transformation does not represent an end.

Some of the depicted subjects at times challenge the eye. The surfaces and textures of these elements can let the eyes perceive different things.

This visual ambiguity creates a space for interpretation, where organic matter transforms into something new.

What is commonly seen as imperfection or decay becomes, through photographic lens, a space for reinterpreting beauty.

This project revolves around
the exploration of ugliness-beauty, reinterpretation, materiality, and nature.
